Welcome!

This website is about the life of Don and Pat Jackson, the hardships they overcame as children, how they started out together with nothing but their love for each other and their desire to have a large family, the life they made for themselves and the family of eight kids they raised at 5102 Bromley Road in Burlington.

Dad died of a heart attack at the young age of 58. He was not able to enjoy his retirement, nor was he able to fully enjoy the fruits of his years of labor at providing for his family. Not by a long shot. Able to enjoy only two of his 14 grandchildren that would ultimately follow, he was as loving and caring as a grandfather as he was as a father.

Mom lived to the ripe age of 89 and when dad passed she had to move to a smaller home but she could not bear to leave the neighbourhood she had grown to love, her neighbours and her friends. So she moved around the corner to 225 White Pines and continued to entertain friends, lend a hand where she could, and mentor the next generation of friends who grew to admire and love her.

Dad had come from a long line of large families and of all his siblings, he was the only one that amounted to anything. It was the combination of Patricia Marcyniuk and Donald Jackson that created a family that was the marvel of many.

I originally wrote Climbing Mount Never Rest as a way to honor mom on her 80th birthday. I have since added a section on my father.

I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did in putting it together
